IT Agentic AI Engineer (Drug Discovery Research & Development)

We are looking for an IT Agentic AI Engineer who will help build an agentic AI capability to accelerate drug discovery R&D. This role owns the engineering of a production-grade agent runtime and multi-agent orchestration layer, with standardized tool/context integrations via Model Context Protocol (MCP) and federated collaboration via Agent-to-Agent (A2A/Agent2Agent) patterns. You will work directly with AI Scientists and Bioinformatics users to turn research workflows into reliable, auditable, secure agent-driven systems.

You’ll maintain our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment and GitHub engineering foundations while delivering reusable agent templates, MCP servers, orchestration graphs, and integrations that allow Scientists to move faster with confidence.

You’ll build the "operating system” for how R&D teams interact with tools, data, and AI—turning agentic AI into a secure, reliable, auditable capability that accelerates discovery

Our client is an American biotechnology company, so part of the work takes place in the Boston time zone.

We offer a B2B contract: 150 – 160 PLN net/hour + VAT

You might be the perfect match if you are/have:

• 5+ years building and operating production software systems, including on-call/reliability ownership;
• Strong experience with GCP (IAM, networking basics, compute/container workloads, logging/monitoring, secrets);
• Strong experience managing GitHub repos and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar);
• Hands-on experience building LLM tool integrations and/or agentic workflows (tool calling, routing, memory, evaluation, guardrails);
• Ability to work effectively with research teams; familiarity with bioinformatics/computational biology workflows sufficient to design useful tools and pipelines;
• Strong programming skills (Python required; TypeScript/Go a plus), API design, distributed systems fundamentals;
• Strong English skills (C1 level - daily communication with international stakeholders);
• Location in Poland.

Moreover, we appreciate skills in these areas:

• Direct experience implementing or operating MCP servers and standardized tool/context protocols;
• Experience with multi-agent orchestration (graphs/state machines, handoffs, retries, checkpoints, HITL);
• Experience with federated agent patterns (Agent2Agent/A2A-like interoperability, secure cross-boundary communication);
• Familiarity with workflow engines (Airflow/Prefect/Dagster/Nextflow) and Kubernetes/GKE or Cloud Run patterns;
• Experience with scientific provenance, lineage, and reproducibility systems.
